Maryland Family Farm Wedding: EmmaLeigh & Jacob

EmmaLeigh and Jacob’s June wedding was impressively beautiful. Not only did they make space for one of the largest tented ceremonies I’ve ever seen and prepare for a full dinner and reception for 400 guests, they made it all happen on Jacob’s family farm! This was no small feat, but the team of friends and family (including members of their church who cooked the meal) worked through the rain and challenges of creating a homemade wedding day and everything was just lovely!

These two were “right at home” the entire day and kept smiles on their faces during the rain. (They even stood in the sprinkling rain for a few pictures!) They rode a side-by-side, enjoyed a BBQ-inspired spread and danced the night away! I loved the various Renewed pieces throughout the decor (wait until you see the kids’ table with the purple chairs below!) and of course the bountiful bouquets and unique rain boots were one of my favorites.

EmmaLeigh and Jacob, thank you so much for inviting me to your family’s little piece of farm heaven! I’m so glad we were able to connect, even after my long absence from your area. You two are such gems and I hope we can take more pictures together in the future! On the farm, of course. 🙂

EmmaLeigh and her girls got married in the old farmhouse on the property. EmmaLeigh’s sister- and brother-in-law live on one side of the house and Jacob’s grandmother lives on the other. It was the perfect getting ready place!

EmmaLeigh’s bouquet was HUGE, and we all loved it!

Purple heels and purple rain boots. 🙂

They eye lashes!

Using the sideview mirrors on the truck to get dressed. Perfect!

Thanks to my second shooter and friend Erin for capturing the next two!

The girls LOVED EmmaLeigh’s bridal look!

Big, old porches like this were made for natural-light portraits!

Ready for the ceremony…

EmmaLeigh and her sister-in-law Kim have Renewed, a shop full of antique, refurbished decor and furniture. Ally’s pink desk and chair came from these ladies and I could have bought many of the pieces they used on the wedding day, including this adorable table and chair set…

Look at this tent! And all those beautiful chairs! Very impressive!

EmmaLeigh’s mama when she saw her approaching the tent…

Picture by Erin! I love when my second shooters snag some good side shots!

Gotta get a picture in front of the silos when you have a farm wedding!

It started to rain a bit, but these two didn’t care! Thankfully Erin and I both brought our clear umbrellas. 🙂

Suspenders + bow ties!

Some of my favorite pictures from their engagement session were taken at this same spot!

I couldn’t resist the tall grass!

Favorites…

How cute and lovely are these ladies!?!

They had all these farm tables brought in for the reception!

And some dark and moody and celebratory pictures to end the post. 🙂

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
